Poland receives 18 more K2 tanks for the 16th Mechanised Division, a month after the first 28 under the second contract
Poland's Ground Forces took delivery of 18 additional K2 Black Panther tanks on September 16, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz announced. The tanks go to the 16th Mechanised Division, which guards the border with Russia's Kaliningrad exclave and Belarus, and follow the 28 K2s delivered in August to the division's 9th Armoured Cavalry Brigade. Both batches fall under the second executive contract signed with Hyundai Rotem on August 1, 2025, which covers 180 tanks: 116 K2GF from Korea in 2026 and 2027 and 64 K2PL built with Polish components from 2028 to 2030. The minister said later batches will incorporate Polish-made components.
