Naraspace to lead 6.7 billion won KRIT project on an AI-driven autonomous proximity-operations microsatellite

Microsatellite startup Naraspace Technology signed an agreement with the Korea Research Institute for Defense Technology Planning and Advancement on September 21, 2026 to lead development of an autonomous proximity-operations microsatellite under the Defense Innovation Company proposal program. The satellite will use an onboard camera and artificial intelligence to recognize objects, plan approach paths, and control its own orbit for inspection and rendezvous missions. The program is worth 6.7 billion won in total, 5 billion won from the government and about 1.7 billion won from private sources, and runs 52 months from September 2026 to December 2030.
