EU-Korea Summit Advances Security & Defense Partnership

The EU and Republic of Korea expanded their security and defense partnership at a summit in Brussels on June 10. Leaders committed to implementing the November 2024 partnership agreement, including starting work on a Security of Information Agreement for classified exchanges, deploying an EU Military Advisor to the EU Delegation in Seoul, and expanding cyber cooperation. The partnership deepens EU-Korea defense industrial ties amid shared European and Indo-Pacific security challenges.
