Spain K9-Based Artillery Joint Development

Indra Group and Hanwha Aerospace signed a binding agreement in March 2026 for joint development and production of K9-based self-propelled artillery. Covers 280 tracked vehicles including 128 artillery, 120 ammunition resupply, plus recovery and command vehicles. Hulls manufactured in Spain. The K9 export execution contract with Indra Sistemas was signed on August 31, 2026 — Hanwha's first artillery sale into Western Europe and the 11th K9 operator nation. Hanwha receives a 20% down payment on signing and a further 5% by year-end; unit counts and delivery schedule are confidential, with Korean estimates putting the initial tranche at a minimum ~KRW 667.5 billion (~$480M).
