Croatia K239 Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher Contract

Hanwha Aerospace signed a EUR 411.8 million (KRW 640 billion, ~$477 million) contract with Croatia's Ministry of Defence on September 10, 2026 at the Office of the Prime Minister in Zagreb for 18 K239 Chunmoo multiple rocket launchers, ammunition carriers, fire direction command vehicles, integrated logistics support, training, and lifecycle support. The package includes CGR-080 guided rockets (80 km), CTM-MR tactical missiles (160 km), and CTM-290 tactical ballistic missiles (290 km), replacing Croatia's Soviet-era M92 Vulkan and BM-21 Grad systems. Croatia's total procurement is EUR 435.2 million excluding VAT, with Poland's WB Electronics contracted separately to deliver and integrate the TOPAZ battlefield management system used by other European Chunmoo operators. Deliveries run 2026-2030, with roughly 85% concentrated in 2028. The signing was attended by Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, Defence Minister Ivan Anusic, ROK Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back, and DAPA Minister Lee Yong-cheol; the two governments also signed a defense-partnership MOU establishing regular working-level dialogue. Croatia is the first Korean arms export customer in the country and the fourth European Chunmoo buyer after Poland, Estonia, and Norway.
